Webcam Image

Michael in Iowa City, Iowa, installed a webcam to his computer in his home. He programmed it with a motion sensor, so that it would snap a picture whenever it detected any motion within it`s view. In an effort to capture thieves that might try to steal his computer, he also programmed it to automatically send the photo to his e-mail address.

On August 8, 2005, Michael was surprised when he opened his inbox to find this picture. The camera is against the back wall of his home office, with both of the windows behind it. The windows had the shades drawn, which would rule out lens flare. The door across the hall in this photo is Michael`s bedroom on the second floor. Although the image in this photo appears to be no taller than the door knob, it`s hard to really determine the height because the image doesn`t appear to have any legs and isn`t standing on the floor.

Not much history is known about this home other than Michael`s landlord believes it was built around 1900. It was built before indoor plumbing, because the bathroom is obviously an addition. There is also a cemetery across the street. The webcam is a Logitech Quickicam with Tincam Software.
