Dear Chris & Shawn,
I have looked at your photos. This type of smoke type appearance is very common, but to date there is no logical explanation for it. Based on the fact that the photos were taken seconds apart I would not necessarily determine that it was a ghost or energy of some kind. Generally when it`s a ghost or spirit the smoke like image will take a while to dissipate & will normally be in the photos taken afterwards. This is not confirmed however, because identifying these things is not an exact science. It`s possible that a spirit could have passed by the camera quickly, but again, we can`t be sure.
Two major causes of this type of thing is if someone was smoking & the smoke got in front of the lens, but if that were the case, it would have been in the following photos until it dissipated. The other possibility is if a flash was being used & a moth or insect of some kind flew in front of the lens causing the flash to reflect.
You said that your wife felt as though something passed in front of her, could you describe that experience in a little more detail? Have you or your wife ever had any similar experiences in the past?
As I mentioned before, there are thousands of photos like this, but to date we are stumped as to why this is. Sometimes processing errors occur with film, but since she was using a digital camera, that theory does not apply.

I am Shawn (the wife) the one who took the photos.
I was standing in our backyard and took a few photos (pointing straight up with no light obtrusions) of the clouds going across the moon and in the second photo I saw and felt something pass in front of me just seconds before the camera flashed. So immediately after I pushed the button I looked at the display of the picture and saw what appeared to be a face of some sort, then took the camera to my husband who was sitting behind me and showed him, then took another one in the same spot a few moments later and nothing in the third picture.
Yes, we have had a few bizarre things happen to us including things in our house. The feeling of someone behind you and one evening my husband was on the couch and heard change (coins) drop on the kitchen bar a few feet away from him. He heard this sound as clear as day because our dog heard it to and looked right at where the sound came from. I also have heard a sound from the kitchen that was very distinct. My husband has a routine in the morning and I heard that specific sound came from the kitchen (the dog also turned to look at it) and when I went looking for him because I thought he was awake I found him sleeping in bed. I have had guest visit and when they use the guest bath they say that a purple colored water comes from the faucet in the tub and when we go to look it is clear. We also shower in that bathroom and have never seen purple water. One morning I was showering in the guest bath and saw my husband through the shower curtain come in and use the toilet and then leave. When I went to look for him again he was in bed sleeping and said he didn't get up.
That is just a few things in the house. I have also had some weird stuff happen to me when we visited Jerome, Arizona and stayed at an old hospital (turned into a hotel) and there were pictures taken of us in the room and a very clear image of a man appeared in the mirror behind me. Also, a sick feeling near a house where people were murdered in New Orleans when we vacationed there.

Ok this is making more sense now. Judging by your statement it seems that there was a brief pause between the taking of photos 2 & 3. This would suggest that this ecto cloud dissipated between those two shots & your description of something passing in front of you suggests perhaps it really was a spirit. Blair Jett
