Mary Keller

This eerie photo was sent to us from Russ Dean. He was at the Preston Cemetery in Charleston, West Virginia, taking pictures for a person that was researching their family tree. Russ wasn`t sure which grave he was looking for, so he just went down the line and snapped pictures of all of the graves.

It was about mid afternoon and a sunny day. After the photo shoot, Russ downloaded all the photos to his laptop computer & all of them came out just fine....... Well, all but this one of the headstone of Mary E. Keller 1862 - 1940.

Just above the word "Wife" is a spot with what appears to be a face on it.
Russ e-mailed me this picture without any explanation, because he wanted to see my opinion of what this could be. I told Mr. Dean that I suspect that it`s either a reflection of light, or moisture on the lens.
Well I was pretty accurate with my guess, because Russ is a photographer and seems to have experience in the field. He said it`s called a flare, which occurs when the sunlight hits the camera lens at just the right angle.

But what about the face?
Russ & I aren`t sure, but it looks too real to be an optical illusion. The only explanation I can offer is that it`s either a darn good optical illusion, or a spirit that found a portal. I`ll explain, spirits require a great deal of energy to manifest into an apparition. They often will absorb energy around them such as kinetic, electromagnetic, and even AC/DC, because most researchers agree that spirits are nothing more than an energy.

Research has shown that spirits will often look for weak spots in the energy field around them in which they can use as a portal to manifest, whether it be on film or visible to the human sight. That sun flare may possibly have been that weak spot. An example is EVP`s, also known as electronic voice phenomena. Research has shown that playing a recording of white noise (the sound you hear when a T.V. station goes off the air) provides a better atmosphere in which the spirits can actually speak & be recorded.

Regardless of the case, this is an excellent photo & I thank Mr. Dean for sharing it with us.
