Farmhouse Apparitions In Nebraska  I like taking pictures of old abandoned houses and turning them black and white then printing them out and hanging them in my house. Never before have I ever saw anything until these pictures I took on Memorial Weekend this year. I'm not real sure what exactly I am seeing but my son said to zoom in on a window once I put them on my computer and we saw everything closely. I will be honest, At one point I did try and alter the brightness and shadows to see what it was (although you can see it without altering the brightness effect just helped on a couple pictures where you have to look hard but one is very clear without the brightness and zoomed in on original photo) and I was a little shocked. I reverted the pictures back to original photo and have been looking for someone to tell me what exactly I am seeing. I have shown the pictures to a few people I know and they all said the same thing and pointed right to it before I told them what I saw. It was a cloudy day, temp around 57 degrees, the house is located on a county road, and it was about 2:00 p.m. MDT Sunday May 29, 2011 if all that helps. Oh and all photos were taken within 5 minutes total. Don't know if that helps. Please email once you have viewed the photos as I would like to know if I am crazy or not. Oh I almost forgot it was taken with a Kodak digital camera. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Hello again Misty.
Well I examined the photos and I shared them with a couple of other friends in the field. For starters, let me say that these types of photos have always been astonishing, and frequent. There have been so many photos similar to yours that have produced anomalies that many people are becoming skeptical to the whole concept of seeing apparitions through windows. I think that is the general response from the people I have shared them with.
My opinion:
I cannot deny that when I look in that window I see what looks like two faces. Could pariedolia be a part of it? Pariedolia is a process in which the brain will make faces and other meanings from random patterns. I would say that by staring at it, that might play some role. But again, both the regular and lightened version show what appears to be two faces.
Is this paranormal? I say it`s a very good chance.
In the lightened version below it almost looks like a woman in a flowing gown appearing in the left window. It`s possible something paranormal might be taking place at this location, but we also cannot rule our Pariedolia, or the the fact that by zooming in so far can distort the pixelation. So this is one of those cases where we may never know. |
