Dim Witty Plantation Hidden away in the backwoods of Leitchfield, Kentucky is the Dim Witty plantation. We were contacted by Belinda Neighbors, who has visited that location on a few occassions & sent us these amazing photos. Belinda is unable to give us an actual address at this time, because their are no real modern day roads leading there, just an unmaintained path. There is a house, a well, slave quarters, cemetery, & even a dungeon like room, that still has chains & shackles on the walls. Apparently there have been many visitors there that have left the place littered with beer cans & garbage which has forced the owner of the property to put up a gate. The owner is tired of the vandalism caused by disrespectful people that go there for a quick thrill. As with many places like this, there are many legends associated with Dim Witty Plantation. Although this is unconfirmed, one legend has it that a couple of men were leaving the plantation after exploring it, when they heard the sound of someone pounding on their truck. They didn`t see anyone, but did notice two handprints on the back of the vehicle. After returning a second time to re-create the first incident, they saw the image of a tall black man standing behind the truck as they drove away. This is a shot of the main house that Belinda took with a disposable camera. At first glance it appears like an ordinary shot of a building, until you take a closer look at the windows. Zoom in if you like, it`s quite eerie. Belinda`s family were quite alarmed when they got the photos developed & saw several faces in the windows looking back at them. This is a zoomed version of the upper photo & Belinda`s father has outlined the faces for us. After studying the original print of this photo, I discovered even more faces in both windows. This is the graveyard on the property, notice the orbs? I`ll give my opinion of these orbs after you see the photo of the well, below. The well. Orbs are a classic appearance in digital cameras especially while using a flash. These photos were taken with a flash, but it was NOT a digital camera. It would be easy to conclude that the orbs are just moisture on the lens etc., but in the graveyard photo if you look between the two trees, you`ll see even smaller orbs that are not consistant with the other orbs. Therefore until proven otherwise, I`m convinced that this is real spirit energy. The history behind plantations & slaves is loaded with spiritual activity, because of the energy left behind by torture & abuse. This is one of the best documents of ghostly activity I`ve seen in a while. There is no question that this gem of American history has it`s share of ghostly occupants. I attempted to do research on this plantation, but so far my efforts came up with nothing. Belinda is doing more research & going to attempt to contact the owner of the premises & will keep us posted. This story will be updated when I hear from her again. |
